San Thuan homestay is located in the region where the archeologists excavated stone tools from the cave and rock shelter sites. It proved the roots of the local community goes back to 4000 BCE. The homestay situated in Ke Village that is settled on the bank of Da River. The typical bamboo stilt structure of the homestay with traditional interior has truly maintained the authenticity and equipped with good facilities. From Sanh Thuan homestay, visitors can visit Ke spring and Hoa Binh lake.
Sanh used to work in a number of locations in Vietnam, but returned to his home to work in his village. He acquired cooking skills and transformed his house into a beautiful homestay. He has been trained in hospitality and he loves to combine these skills with traditional hospitality methods. He is known for the delicious local cuisines he makes for his guests.
Food of Muong identity comprises bamboo shoots and grilled pork/chicken/fish. Since Ke Village is located on the bank of Da River, fish is the staple food for locals. The host of Sanh Thuan has been trained in cooking and he makes sure to cook some dishes suitable for foreigners and vegetarians/vegans.

Guests like to eat our Ladakhi food. They say it is delicious, even when it is prepared by an elderly ama (mother) like me. I always make sure I serve them the cleanest and healthiest food. My husband is a copper artist. When guests leave us, they say ‘Julley’, and hug us. It makes us feel happy.
I became a Mountain Homestay Host in 2018, and I have hosted many travellers since then. Running a homestay has helped me and my family a lot. Not only is the solar set up in our house useful for us, but even travellers prefer to stay in our homestay because of it.
The training we got in astronomy turned out to be a life-changing experience for our village. I felt happy and proud while mapping the position of the planets and sharing the secrets of the universe with the tourists. Tourists told me that even they didn’t know so much about the dark skies!
