They’re there at every step, shaping the journey, supporting local partners and helping travellers experience the region in a more real and connected way.

SIMAR PREET KAUR

Simar is the Program Head at Mountain Homestays. A postgraduate tourism professional, she leads community-based tourism initiatives across India and Central & East Asia, creating sustainable and culturally rooted travel experiences with meaningful local impact.

NIKKI

Stanzin Yangskit (Nikki) leads the Ladakh chapter of Mountain Homestays. A hospitality professional from Ladakh, she works with local hosts and communities to create meaningful homestay experiences while promoting responsible and sustainable tourism.

TSEWANG DORJEY

Tsewang Dorjey leads on-ground operations for Mountain Homestays in Ladakh and heads the award-winning Astrostays initiative. An amateur astronomer, he curates dark sky experiences while supporting clean energy and sustainable tourism initiatives for local communities.

MAYANK PRATAP

Mayank leads marketing and outreach at Mountain Homestays, strengthening its digital presence and communications. A postgraduate tourism professional, he also contributes to hospitality training, documentation and storytelling initiatives across MH projects.

MAX

Max is a tourism expert with 10+ years of experience in tourism and community development. As MH’s lead trip facilitator for Northeast expeditions, he offers travellers deeper insights into Northeast India’s indigenous cultures and communities.

PARAS LOOMBA

Paras Loomba is the Founder of GHE and initiated the Mountain Homestays programme as a way to create long-term sustainability for rural development efforts in remote Himalayan regions. He supports the teams in shaping the strategic vision and scaling the impact of Mountain Homestays across diverse geographies and communities.
