Skidmang Eco Homestay

Located in Skidmang Village within the Changthang region, this homestay is set in a small settlement of only 30 homes surrounded by open fields. Situated near the mountains and the Indus River, the traditional house offers an authentic village experience away from typical tourist crowds.

The space

The homestay is designed to accommodate couples or groups, with private guest rooms located on the first floor. Built in a traditional Ladakhi style using local materials, the rooms offer scenic views of the Indus River and the Rong Valley.

Bathroom

Washrooms feature an attached western-style toilet during the summer months. In winter, guests use a traditional dry toilet located outside the house, a setup functionally adapted for cold weather conditions when water frequently freezes.

Outdoor area

The house is surrounded by open fields, mountains and the Indus River. Guests can explore the outdoors to observe traditional farming and herding practices, walk through the village or enjoy photography by the riverbanks.

Host

Your host, Neema Wangmo, is a grandmother and local farmer who has been welcoming guests since 2019. She resides with her family and enjoys sharing stories about the Changthang region. She possesses extensive knowledge of local flora and can guide guests through the village’s cultural traditions.

Guest access
