Located in a quiet settlement of just 20 houses in the Sham Valley, Kurambik Eco Homestay offers a simple life close to nature at the edge of the wilderness. Situated near snow leopard habitats, this hidden home provides a peaceful retreat with striking views of the rugged mountain landscape.
The space
The homestay is positioned on a secluded hill across a small stream, standing as the only house on that side of the village. Guests are accommodated in a cozy private room within the family home, enjoying a highly tranquil environment powered entirely by solar energy.

Your host Dorjay Stanzin is a warm and friendly man who moved back to the quiet village of Kurambik after retiring from the Indian Army. He lives there with his wife and his mother. After spending many years around other soldiers he found his quiet hilltop home a bit too lonely and he missed talking to people. To fix this Dorjay built this homestay so he could open his doors to travelers from all over the world. He is an excellent cook who takes great pride in making delicious and hearty Ladakhi meals using fresh ingredients from the local farms. Dorjay loves filling his home with warmth and good conversations and fascinating stories from his time in the service and his life in the remote mountains. Staying with him and his family offers more than just a room because you get a real connection and true Ladakhi kindness.
