Phyang Eco Homestay

Located in Phyang Village near Leh, Phyang Eco Homestay is situated around 15 km (approximately 30 minutes) from Leh town. Set within a traditional village setting, the homestay offers views of the surrounding landscape along with proximity to the historic Phyang Monastery. Its location provides access to both village life and nearby cultural sites, while remaining within reachable distance of Leh and the airport.

The space

The homestay is an older traditional house that has been renovated with modern interiors to support guest stays. It is located within the village and offers views of the surrounding valley and monastery. The setting allows travellers to experience daily village life in a structured and accessible environment.

Stay

The stay includes private guest rooms within the host family’s home. Rooms are maintained for comfort and functionality in a high-altitude setting. Heating during winters is provided using a traditional bukhari (wood stove).

Each room includes access to:

• Basic furnishings suited for short stays

The setup is simple and practical, aligned with the local environment.

Your host, Jigmet Angmo, lives with her family in a multi-generational household. She manages the homestay alongside her daily responsibilities and also runs a small shop in the village.

She shares knowledge about local traditions, including traditional weaving and village practices. The household includes multiple generations, offering insight into family-based living in the region.
