About your experience
Namdapha: Amazon of Northeast is a slow-paced exploration of the eastern Himalayan rainforest region located near the Indo-Myanmar border. The journey connects Assam’s tea belt with the forested landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh, focusing on biodiversity, indigenous communities and nature-based travel experiences.
The itinerary begins from Dibrugarh in Assam and continues towards Miao, often referred to as the gateway to Namdapha National Park. The route follows sections of the historic Stilwell Road and passes through forest corridors, river valleys and small settlements inhabited by Tangsa, Chakma and Singpho communities.
Namdapha National Park is one of India’s largest protected forest regions and is known for its tropical rainforest ecosystem, varied altitudinal range and rich wildlife habitats. The experience combines short forest explorations, boating on the Noa Dihing River, community interactions and visits to monasteries and cultural spaces.
Accommodation during the journey includes locally managed jungle resorts and eco lodges located close to forest regions. The itinerary is designed for small groups and involves long road journeys through remote areas with changing terrain and weather conditions.
