About your experience
Wild Wild East is a regional travel circuit across parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam that focuses on cultural landscapes, community-led experiences and nature-based travel. The journey connects Miao, Namsai, Wakro and Roing through mountain roads, forest regions and river valleys in the eastern Himalayan belt.
The experience begins from Dibrugarh in Assam and continues towards Miao, often referred to as the gateway to Namdapha National Park. The route follows sections of the historic Stilwell Road and passes through settlements inhabited by Tangsa, Singhpo, Tai Khampti and Idu Mishmi communities.
The itinerary combines cultural immersion with regional history and landscape exploration. Travellers engage with local communities through traditional meals, monastery visits, handicraft workshops, tea experiences and storytelling sessions. The experience also includes visits to important cultural and spiritual sites such as the Golden Pagoda and Parshuram Kund.
Accommodation throughout the journey includes boutique homestays, eco resorts and locally managed stays. The circuit is designed for small groups and focuses on slower travel through remote regions rather than fast-paced sightseeing. Road journeys form a significant part of the experience, allowing travellers to observe changing landscapes across forests, valleys and river systems.
