The Pangong Circuit offers a different way to travel through Leh-Ladakh. What is the Pangong Circuit?

The Pangong Circuit is a road trip through Eastern Ladakh that combines Pangong Lake, traditional villages, astronomy experiences, border history and nomadic culture. Instead of treating Pangong Lake as a quick stop, travellers spend time exploring the region through village stays and local experiences that offer a closer look at life in Leh-Ladakh.

Cross Chang La Pass

The journey from Sakti to Pangong Lake takes travellers across Chang La Pass, one of the highest motorable mountain passes in the world. As the road climbs higher, the landscapes begin to change. Snow-covered peaks, mountain streams and vast valleys make this one of the most scenic drives in Leh-Ladakh. After crossing the pass, the route descends through Durbuk and Tangtse before reaching Pangong Lake.

Where Next?

Leh

After exploring Pangong Lake, Maan Village and Chushul, travellers can either return to Leh or continue further into the Changthang region.

Those with additional time can travel onwards to Hanle, known for its dark skies, observatory, wildlife and remote landscapes. The route from Chushul to Hanle is one of the most scenic drives in Eastern Ladakh and offers another opportunity to experience village life, astronomy and local culture.
